Charito Kruvant

M. Charito Kruvant is the CEO and Co-Founder of Creative Associates International, a leading global development organization based in Washington, D.C.

Under her leadership, Creative’s programs have connected with and supported millions of people around the world. She has aggressively promoted the practice of local ownership of programs, building the skills of partners and bringing current, successful ideas to the forefront of development. Creative’s approach to development has improved education, civil society, governance, stabilization and livelihoods for millions of people worldwide. During the past 39 years, Creative has worked in nearly 90 countries.

Kruvant has been honored with professional awards for her efforts and leadership. In 2012 she received the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area’s Perdita Huston Human Rights Award for her exemplary role in educational and technical development, especially with women and girls, and for leading a life of public service. Kruvant is currently a visiting lecturer at Harvard.

Born in Bolivia and raised in Argentina, she received an M.A. in early childhood development from the University of Maryland in College Park and a B.A. from Colegio Ward in Argentina.
