Russell Porter

Russell Porter is currently serving as the Executive Director of USAID’s Countering Violent Extremism Secretariat. He is a seasoned manager with 24 years of experience working and managing in challenging environments around the world, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Haiti, Colombia, Venezuela, Somalia, and other parts of the world.

Porter has extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing strategic programs and creating creative solutions to critical problems coupled with policy expertise in Latin America and Central Asia in developing strategies, external communications, congressional relations, development economics and diplomacy.
